Offset UmbrellasPremium Side Post Umbrella

INSTRUCTIONS

The Offset Umbrella is a unique design that places the pole off to the side, allowing unparalleled sightlines, maximum shade and easy assembly. The side post umbrella is a canopy that is easily adjustable to provide shade in many different positions and angles. When the sun has set your offset umbrella simply retracts out of the way for maximum convenience. The Side Post Umbrella is a "no-tool required" assembly making it easy to quickly enjoy the shade benefits or you new umbrella!

Offset umbrellas allow the pole to be out of your way. No more peering around a pole to see someone across from you.

WARNING
- Before opening umbrella canopy, place at least four (4) heavy patio stones or similar items weighing at least 180 lbs. over flared base to increase product stability. The weight can be combined from patio stones, planters, storage box, etc. Failure to do so will result in a weight imbalance and cause the umbrella to tip. ALWAYS CLOSE the umbrella during high or gusting winds and when not in use. Failure to do so may result in personal injury and/or property damage.

1) Place longer base leg over the corresponding notch on shorter base leg. (see ill. A)

2) Place the pole support over the crossed base legs so that the bolt holes are aligned.

3) Place one bolt through a hole into the pole support base and loosely thread the bolt into the leg section. Align all (4) bolts and washers through the (4) holes in the pole support and base legs. After all four bolts are loosely started into the leg sections, tighten each bolt securely. (ill. B)

4) Move base to desired location and place patio stones or similar items over the flared edges of the base legs. (ill. C)

5) Feed umbrella pole into support pole. Hand tighten the (2) black headed screw on the pole support. (ill. D)

Installing the Canopy

6) Turn crank (approximately 10 turns) to partially open umbrella, tilting top forward. Unfold canopy and seperate velcro. Put canopy square opening over umbrella ribs at the top of the umbrella. Align velcro strips with main rib #19 (see illustration I)

7) Start by hanging top canopy pockets on canopy holders or “hooks”. (see ill. E) Crank umbrella (approximately 15 total turns) opening 1/2 to 3/4 of the way open.

8) From inside/underneath the umbrella canopy, starting at main rib #19, “hook” top and bottom canopy holders. Attach bottom of canopy first. Pull canopy up to place upper holders (ill. E)

9) Starting one rib at a time, unhook top canopy holder (ill. E) and insert bottom of rib into canopy bottom. (ill. F) Then re-attach canopy top onto the top holder. Continue doing this until all ribs are attached. (ill. E) Make sure velcro strips are attached together on main rib #19. (ill. H)

10) Unscrew and remove the “button” cap on umbrella top. Attach the smaller top canopy over the shorter upper ribs in the same manner and screw the “button” cap back into place. (ill. G)

11) Turn the crank handle on the umbrella pole until the canopy is fully open. DO NOT over crank.

12) To lower the umbrella, stand clear of the hand crank and gently pull the handle located next to the pole.

13) Use the stop pin, hanging from the side of the sliding arm at the pole. Place the stop pin in the holes in the umbrella pole to give the canopy the angle you desire. The higher you place the stop pin the less the angle will be. To open the umbrella so that it is level with the ground do not use the stop pin at all. (ill. J and K)

14) To change rotation of canopy loosen the knob screw on the base pole. Rotate the umbrella to desired position and tighten the knob screw. (ill. L and M)
